Hello Friends and Family:

Many of you are aware of my ongoing commitment to support SEEK – The agency which brought Alex home to Ed and I.  Over the years SEEK families and myself have been discussing ideas on how the families of SEEK can continue to support SEEK’s mission to help the children of Romania and continue to support the families SEEK has blessed over the years.

Our ideas have come alive through the Friends of SEEK blog.  This blog is a means for families and friends to interact and social network with other SEEK families and friends.

The blog is also a way to spotlight SEEK’s continued support of several children in Romania who don’t have the gift of a forever family.  We want to make sure these children are not forgotten and we hope the blog will draw attention to their needs.  I hope you will take a moment to stop by http://friendsofseek.edublogs.org.

Now that I have found Jing I want to introduce you to my pet project.  My husband and I were blessed in 2001 with a rough and tumble 2 1/2 year old who will turn ten next week.  You may have noticed his pictures in past blogs.   Our blessed union was brought about by an off hand introduction to Debbie Sparrow and her sister Jill.

Debbie and her husband Dennis started the adoption agency SEEK, International which fouced on the adoption of Romania children.  Over the years other SEEK parents and myself have been discussing ideas on how we can contribute to SEEK’s mission to help the children of Romania and continue to support the families SEEK has blessed over the years.  Yes, we are all involved in organizing fundraising events and humanitarian projects, but we wanted to do more.  Over the past month we have started a blog as a way for SEEK families to interact and social network with other SEEK families and the international community.  This blog was also started as a means to promote SEEK’s mission to continue to help our children in Romania.

Wow – If technology only had the ability to wire harness the inter-workings of my co-worker’s brain. She has more information in there than I think is humanly possible. Every time I mention a roadblock she comes up with a solution. The newest one is Jing. This application allows you to capture anything on your screen and turn it into a picture or video.  This is how all those individuals are adding tutorial videos to their blogs.



It is so easy.  This is screen shot of my home computer screen.  As you can see I was able to add text and arrows to point out features.  Way cool.    Have fun add Jing to your applications.

The winter break has officially ended.  Headed back to school today.  The students seemed to be ready to get back into their routines.  The strangest thing happened – had a computer glitch in the library.  Over the break all the students were moved up a year.  All of the 8th graders were no longer in our system and were now showing up as High School freshman.  The kids thought it was funny.  Glitched repaired in no time.  The libary blog is up and rolling.  Students have been writing book reviews and seem to be navigating their way around the site.  Take a look and visit often.  There will always be changes.  http://swmlibrary.edublogs.org

Currently I really like the musical artist Brett Dennen he reminds of Tracy Chapman’s music from the 1980’s.
